Gwelup Medical Centre is an independent, doctor owned medical practice, located in the leafy northern suburb of Gwelup. We pride ourselves on delivering a health service which fits the needs and comfort of our patients. We welcome patients from all communities to our practice.
15+ years of care
The practice was established in 2004. Our friendly staff consists of expert general practitioners assisted by highly trained practice nurses, a physiotherapist and general practice staff.in the leafy northern suburb of Gwelup. We pride ourselves on delivering a health service which fits the needs and comfort of our patients. We welcome patients from all communities to our practice.
Philosophy
We are committed to the highest ethical and clinical standards in General Practice. We deliver holistic healthcare (treating the whole person, not just the symptom) and deliver outcome-based health care with a preventative approach.
Our doctors seek to maintain and improve their clinical skills so that treatment recommendations are as appropriate as possible. With respect to this we maintain monthly clinical meets and participate in the quality assurance and continuing professional development program (QA&CPD)
We use our medical records to audit our performance against benchmarks. We are also constantly reviewing performance with our clinical and non-clinical staff and actively seek feedback from patients to improve our service. Furthermore, Gwelup Medical Centre is proud to be an AGPAL accredited practice. Accreditation for AGPAL is voluntary but is your assurance of a high standard of quality and performance which is independently assessed to Royal College of General Practitioners standards.
Gwelup Medical Centre supports the development of our future general practitioners. We provide supervised placements for 6-12 months duration for registered medical practitioners who are training to be GPs. In exchange for providing them with guidance and experience, we are provided with enthusiastic doctors who bring new ideas and knowledge to our medical team.
Gwelup Medical Centre is a training post for the RACGP and UWA school of medicine.
We understand that there are things that we cannot do and as a result we maintain a close working relationship with many local resources including child heath centres, child development clinics, allied health practitioners, government services, specialists, mental health services and community services.
We aim to uphold the highest level of professionalism in dealing with our patients. We are committed to maintaining confidentiality so that you can be assured that you can confide in us no matter what the problem.
